By continuing our efforts to divert materials from the waste stream through source reduction, recycling, and re-use, we can make a difference. There are many opportunities that we can all take advantage of but we have to enlist the help of many more people. In Saskatoon, we are exploring opportunities to remove organics from the waste stream. We have to start small but our tonnage received by our program is doubling each year.

I'm looking forward to networking with other SWANA members on just how to implement - and measure - waste diversion activities that mitigiate climate change & enhance energy conservation, Laurie
